Description

I just lost my whole "Ready to Place" folder with approximately 150 images in it. It is many, many hours of work - just gone. My son tried to retrieve it with his fancy software but to no avail. My heart literally aches... Very silly, I know, but dang!!!!!! I had to revert to older images for tonight's upload. This fuschia was captured in my garden at the beginning of spring around October last year. Hope it brings some warmth in the bitter cold up north! Thanks for popping in and for your valued comments and faves on my upload of Kayla a couple of nights ago! Stay warm and take care! Hugs, Carin xx

Beautiful capture Carin, I am sorry you lost all your work, it is a real bummer, it happened to me when my HD failed last year, I lost some great images, now I back everything up with a paranoid attitude LOL!

Oh I have lost plenty of things through the years! Sorry about your loss. This is what a CD burner to back-up is for, and also Photobucket.com is a great place to back up favorites. That has saved me lots of times! This is an excellent macro, with a soft focus. I love fuschias so much, and wish I could grow them here.

Great macro! If you did'nt write a lot of data, its possible to get your photographs back. the're programs who can restore deleted files, Ive used http://www.pcinspector.de/default.htm?Language=46 to get some files back a few years ago. Its Dutch, but worthed to try. RS

My biggest fear these days is losing my photo file on my laptop. My deepest sympathies! But, then you brought a stunning floral shot to us and I am glad you had to dig to find it. :-)

so sorry to hear about all those lost hours =( I thought for a week after Christmas I'd lost my hard drive, which is pretty small and could go unnoticed and on which EVERYTHING photographic I've pretty much ever done is stored, not backed up... you can imagine the relief when it turned up eventually.. I guess backing things up is one of those real boring things we should all do but which I somehow never get round to... aaaanyway, nice shot, great colours and light! =)

I love fuschia's but can't seem to grow them. Oh well. Sorry to hear about your "ready to place" folder. I'm not that organised myself as you might be able to tell. Get yourself a 2.5 inch portable hard drive and go to www.2brightsparks.com and get their free syncback software. Thats what I do and the 2.5 goes with me everywhere then gets plugged back in when home.

Hi Carin...beautiful fuschia...looks absolutely fresh. I'm lucky to have 3 or 4 ahead, how did you manage 150? I know we all have our own ways but I went to Amazon the last time I got a scare, shelled out some dollars and got a 500GB external HD. I plug it into my laptop once a week, start it and walk away. It automatically adds only those changes I've made since the last backup. CDs are painful but inexpensive and for some reason I just don't like sending all my stuff off to some service who knows where. Mighty nice replacement today. Bill

Lovely blooms, is there no hope for the return of your files? I hate when that happens.... I've started myself on a program of monthly backups after my last scare.
