Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

There's that rusty barbed wire again:) I'm having difficulty identifying the roofing material but the texture is wonderful. I guess it is corrugated sheet metal. Well seen and photographed...causing one to wonder a bit adds to the value of the photo.

Great compo and shot!

this could be the subject of an abstract painting. You got a lot of different states of decay in these shingles or logs (whatever they may be). It's kind of a sea of roofing...And since you gave us nothing 'but'—one of your shots where you give us a whole thing & nothing but—it's really about the lines, the motions, the textures, etc. You do this very well. (Your driftwood is a recent example.) I like the barbed wire too; in fact the whole front of the shot is filled with oddball woods, nails, etc—the helter-skelter nature of an old structure. Very nice work, Marilyn. You've given us a lot of worlds within this single barn...

Stellar POV employed to capture the effects in this shot. No cat, but plenty of oxidation on this hot tin roof, Marilyn!

Amazing what you can see around one barn Marilyn! Unusual and very nice capture!

The lines run well in sections the eyes easily find. I like the rotted wood up front.
