Then, with a sly smile turning his lips, he withdrew it, turned and strolled casually back to his chair in the shadows. �Well that was entertaining,� Rynard said with clear amusement as Syn set down his great sword and took up his goblet of wine, as if nothing had happened. �So� If you don�t want her� I�ll take her for you.� Syn�s only reply was to glare back, something that he had seen make brave hearts crumble. But Rynard had long ago learned to read the ever so faint traces of humor in his friend�s eye, and knew that much of his cold and distant manner was just a façade. However, he also knew that Syn was a Dragon Lord, and he had seen his wraith unleashed... Leaving no question as to how Melnibone had ruled all the world for thousands of years.
