Description
A self-supporting fence in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Back in the old days when simply surviving in these parts was a noble profession all in itself, they had to be extremely resourceful by living off both the land and their wits.
This self-supporting fence is but one tiny example. No nails or wire available but fences were needed just the same, often to keep animals either in or out, depending on the situation.
This was taken last October, a most beautiful time of the year in the Smokies. My previous post featured a look at Cade's Cove, taken on the same trip.
Thanks for looking!
