Description

This was one of two images I created for the Bryce Challenge "The Four Elements"(the other one can be seen with the other entries to date).The trees are from Clay's Preset Bryce Trees from Daz3D.The sky is a customized preset,as is the texture on the foliage at the base of the trees.The terrain is textured in a photo from cgtextures.com.The smoke is a volumetric cloud preset(Grey Smoke)applied to two spheres.The fire is three spheres rendered in a volumetric nebula material that I changed the colour of in the material editor.Rendered at Normal setting,this image took almost an hour to render.I'll re-render this at a better resolution at a later date,as even at Superfine it would take almost five hours at this size!Thanks for viewing and any comments....and if you're curious to see the images entered so far in the Bryce Challenge,check out the Open Contests section!

Great detail! Not that I've ever been in a forest fire, mind you, but I'd think it would look darker and more ominous.
