Description

The peaceful tranquility of early morning is shattered by the flyby of two fighter ships on patrol, the high pitched whine of their engines startling a creature at a hidden waterhole below. Creature is the Catoblepas from Daz3D,posed in DazStudio.Ships are my own models created in Bryce.Rock formations are lattices hand painted in the terrain editor, and both them and the terrains are rendered in a photo-texture from cgtextures.com.Sky is a custom.Water drops from creature's mouth is a sphere rendered in a rain preset.Rendered in Premium setting, postwork consists of vapour trails and signature done in Photoshop. Thanks for viewing and comments!

Neat! It would be a fun canyon to hike into and explore. You lead the way in case we come across any beasts....

Those rock formations look excellent (although I'm not sure those textures are the right ones, I'd expect something less smooth and more rugged). The composition looks great too. Very good work!

Awesome sense of scale, Neil. And the little extras you always add to your renders complete the storyline.

Excellent looking rocks Neil, really amazing structures. He does look like one startled creature doesn't he. A great pre-historic type image. Wonderful attention to detail again with the water dripping from the mouth of the Catoblepas. Tony.
