Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I have seen this one in the catalogs but never in the flesh. I like the way it displays itself and thanks to this great shot, I may see if the local nursery has one this year. BTW, we are under heavy gray clouds now and the rain is in the air!

Fabulous soft colors in this wonderful macro, M! Actually, if this variety is a climber, shouldn't it be called a "Jacob's Ladder?" After over a month of boring bright sun and 80+ degree heat, we're finally supposed to get some badly needed precipitation down here in So Cal.

it's the end of my day, and one of the things I love about coming to your world is the constant exuberance you give out everyday. You really paid homage to warmth with this almost-heat-dissolved image—like it was part-mirage in the summer sun (or a flame, as Geo suggests). Love how you never rest, jumping into the world with renewed energy each day. The blue behind it is rich too. A really nice burst of melding colors...And hey, in my several decades in the arts, I've never heard the word, "zizzy"! You've made it! I don't know what it means—I even googled it (I assume it's a British expression, from one of our most vivacious artists [ie, Andrea])—but if can garner one "zizzy" in my life, I'll have lived a full life! Wonderful pic, definitely zizzy, and a real pick-me-up for a cold day! I wonder if "Jacob's Coat" is named after the biblical Jacob. Beautiful flower in any case.

Oh, that's marvelous! I love how the focus is on the center, and the slight fuzziness around the edges. And the colors...! Stunning shot!
