Description
She was the eldest, the matriarch of the herd, the longest lived of their kind and so blessed by Equus that from his breath upon her brow sprouted a silver spiral -- a symbol of her purity, her kindness and her love. Particularly of the young, innocent and defenseless of the herd.
She was Epona, the Goddess of the horses, and this magic realm was her home. She was guardian and guide to the young of her breed and guide to those who loved her kin and defender against those that would do her children wrong.

While not the traditional guise of the Goddess, Epona, I could think of no better name for such a lovely guardian to the next generation of foals as she watches them play in a magical glen.
This is for a dear friend, loyal supporter and faithful follower of her own Goddess. Roxy, this is for you, with affection, love and regard.
You have inspired many a vision in myself and others that, hopefully, someday, will make themselves known in some form of image. Thank you for your support, invaluable input and most importantly, your friendship.

This is a gorgeous work Stacey! In all sincerity I can see the huge effort you put into this piece. I often tell you how impressed I am that you can pose horses naturally, or even in ridiculous poses that still look possible. Here you have quadrupled your efforts by beautifully posing no less than four! Multiple character scenes are always so much more challenging because each individual has a pose but there is always interaction to be concerned about to make the scene real and not look posed. In all these regards you have pulled off a a technical masterpiece! It is also a tribute to an overlooked Goddess and you know how dear that theme is to my heart. So bravo to you for doing this. And finally, of course, I have to thank you for thinking of me and naming the piece in my honour. For that, my friend, I am indeed... honoured.
