Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

very nice shot.

I totally enjoy the sloughs, and probably find them more fascinating than the rivers, themselves. There are always such interesting water fowl, amphibians and reptiles to be found, not to mention natural plants popping up. Great shot.

Had to go look up slough...not much of a challenge online:) Intuitively, I thought it was a series of slow moving streams, rivulets, etc. paralleling a bigger river...and now this view seems to confirm that. Learning something again today!

In a way secretive and teaming with life I suppose? I was wondering what the stae of your marshes are... Is it not international marsh (wetlands) day early in Feb?

like a photo of two massive furs with a brook in between! These are really lush! Reminds me of some of your heather shots, full, lush and soft. It's actually pretty golden for the time of year (here, it's either white or gray), and your POV feels like a little river is snaking its way through a very lush outlay of winter blankets & furs. Lovely capture & beautiful colors for this time of year.
