Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Love it when plants spring back to life.

How cool is that? Do the new shoots come out far away from the original vine? Great capture!

Ooooou... Grapes around the corner. I never did try growing grapes. Might try it... Thanks for the idea..... Aloha

I have 2 grapevines on my fence - a green seedless and a red with seeds. I make jelly every year from these two vines. But I'm not so lucky to have a single trunk... Every year I tell myself I'll keep them pruned like the professionals but I just don't get it right and they grow more like wild grape with branches starting about 6 inches above the ground...and it covers the fence and grows up in my neighbor's tree and on and on......

Wonderful postwork. Captures the biological intensity of... life's determinism.

Love the rich reds & rust tones, and the rustic feel of it all. You know, to some people, the actual vine against the fence would just be a 'vine on a fence', a simple occurrence many people walk by. Which drives home the whole essence of photography, doesn't it: that the photographer takes a simple sight, and through her/his inner eye, makes it the whole universe, brings out its essence. So this simple "vine on a fence" becomes a big visual explosion, from you. I get that feeling in your gallery in general; and honestly, if I never get to that part of the country, I'll at least feel I've gotten an intimate view through your vital eye & journeys. (And thanks for stopping by Mark's Song, from me too! I was thrilled to see you there & appreciated how you recognized me in his drawing! Besides, ya can't go wrong stopping in martin's gallery...he shows me how much I have to learn about drawing!)
