Description

This apple tree is in my neighbor's yard. I walk past it almost every day and have been watching these brave little apples for weeks now. The young man who lives here is the son of a friend, and he's more than happy for me to come along and pick what I want. Yesterday, though, not only did I want to grab these last few, I also had to grab my camera. So, I shot this one, then picked em!!

Seems like it was time. Frost and age on the branch were working their magic by the look of the skins. Great shot and hope the apples tasted as nice.

I love the way apples look when they're on the tree after all the leaves have fallen. It always makes me look twice. Is it scrumping if you have permission to take the apples? The niceties of fruit stealing escape me. :)

very bold, Marilyn, almost Japanese in its clarity and simplicity. Because of the way you captured them, they look like they're suspended in space. Nice use of space & white in contrast to the bold presence of the apples. So were they good? I mean, you picked them, right, so were they edible? Sometimes fruit gets to a point where it's 'beyond' edible: It reaches Venerable status, it becomes officially Wise, and if you eat it, it walks away. Did they reach that phase? They kind of look like they did. (Fruit at that stage doesn't rot, it just stays that way forever. They're the Prophets' of fruit.) (Hey, I can dream...) I also like that chunk of tree/bark at the bottom: Looks delicious! Sensitive delicate shot.
