Description

This will probably the last image that I'll be allowing comments on as I'm sick and tired at seeing so many cut and paste commentors on here and artists that favourite nearly every image uploaded to Renderosity. To me that kind of behaviour has nothing to do with art and is just a pathetic attempt at an ego boost and a way of infecting the art charts like a virus due to return commenting and favouriting. The artists who really deserve to be in the art charts and to have their images viewed are being thwarted by this kind of behaviour. The whole point of Renderosity is to celebrate artwork and it is being ruined by these self-promoting tactics. So to all my friends who do leave worthwhile, helpful and honest comments on my work I sincerely apologise but I can take no more of this situation until it's sorted out. I've started a forum thread at: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2761903 which aims to change the way the art charts are generated as I can see no other way of stopping this kind of behaviour. I'd be interested in peoples opinions on this matter. Tony.

I can certainly understand your frustration. Sometimes, I think it is that the others want to just get through the comments they feel they have to make, because if they don't, the artist will think less of them. Good, honest critiques are what make our art better. This image is spectacular in the POV you used to add interest and the lovely gradients. Superb fantasy scene.

Fantastic Bryce image Tony, great atmosphere, sense of movement and I really like the landscape/rock formations - so I hope you don't mind if I consider it a favorite anyway. I'll certainly check in at your forum post though, to tell you the truth, I'm neither a fan of forums nor art charts.

Bravo Tony!!! I longtime sentiment of mine. Personally I think the charts should be done away with. However, that and what you would like to see will probably never happen. This is an age old sore spot with many artists here. And, has been an ongoing battle for years. Aside from that I will gladly continue commenting on your works over at DDU. I have to concur on the cut and paste comments, why bother.

His work has been fantastic and magnificent, their talent is indisputable. Art is feeling, which is a translation of the soul. Of course you talk Perhaps occurs when, as happened several times, but always temporary, because they typically are adventurers and their journey is short. I do not feel capable of judging any kind of art, but felt it did. Perhaps a work alone has not perfected a technique but a whole conveys the feelings. The more that matters most is when it might be born artists who may give up without support and those who always tell us something in their work. I sincerely hope that reflect, and not let get by simple bad moments that happen as you say here. Private and many many who admire your work and your talent my friend, as shown in this magnificent achievement that bring here now, applause (5)

I also understand how you feel for I have seen and have had to comment on just such a subject of comending an artists work which was flawed! If a piece isn't truly worthy of a 5 than it must be pointed out and why so the artist may work on improvments. You sir don't have that problem at least not here!! This is what a masterful piece of artistic skill is!! The very angle of its viewing is a work of art let alone the vivid color and content! This image stands out because of that alone however I do feel your pain and will miss making my point as to why I do favor your work. So I say it now I do treasure your skill and have best wishes for you!!

Nice setup of your scene. Replied about comments there. Do suggest that you do not penalize yourself and those that have in the past left you comments because you do not like what others do.

I'm sorry if I've been one of those... however, I find your work to be someof the best on this site. Your attention to detail gives every image a life of it's own. I enjoy viewing each posting you gift us with... but understand what you mean by cookie cutter comments. Keep up the wonderful work Tony. seth

I agree with you on the aforementioned points. However, I must also agree with dbrv6 in that you do not stop those of us who enjoy commenting on your work and your skills. Just a suggestion here. Actually, that'll just move the C&P'ers onto more of our renders...LOL Yeah, you can kick me later for that bit of humor! Love the angle you have presented here. And it's really great to see that rock structure being used in a realistic-type setting. The water seems to sparkle with the dancing light of the distant sun. Another great one, Tony.

First off, excellent image. I love the pov and the colors and the terrains. It's dramatic and looks like somthing I might try to do somday if I ever get that good. :) On the subject of the pasting comments, I complained to a moderator about it last week. It is definately a problem. I hate it as much as anyone. I hope it can be resolved in a not so painful way as well.

I agree with you Tony. I get tired of seeing images that should not have 3-5 pages of positive comments. I am guilty of only leaving positive comments on art work that catches my eye and I think deserves praise. I just do not feel I have earned the right to be critical since I am still learning myself. But I do feel positive reinforcement also helps people strive to create more. The more you create the more your skills will grow. I hope you will continue to post your works of art so people can enjoy them. Good luck my friend. By the way, very nice landscape the lighting looks great. Is this image supposed to have a fish eye lens effect? To me it looks like the dragon second from the left looks distorted. Just curious. Johnny

My comments may be short, but I have yet to cut and paste. I've seen it done and wonder why they even bother. Your work is always a joy to see Tony and I hope you continue to let those of us who appreciate it continue to comment.

Please continue to allow comments. Your point is more than valid but don't cut off your own nose despite your face. I will visit your thread and amen the sentiment. I baffles me how some will post an image and will have 3 pages of comments withing a couple hours. It really doesn't baffle me because I know how it is done and it smells badly.

This is one of your best Bryce images Tony,if not the best to date! The camera angle, lighting and atmo are magical,as is the light on the water. The time and attention to detail are very evident, and the colour palette is very pleasing to the eye...so,I'm afraid I will have to add this to my faves!Keep up the great work my friend!

Ah, are you ever preachin to the choir here, Tony!! Those c&p'ers drive me nutz!! A friend and I have a special term for them, but I can't write it here. Enough of that--this is a wonderful image; I have a "thing" for comets and this just brings them to life--great work!!

Great render Tony. My English is not good enough to express my position on the words you say. I agree in some, not in all. The charts mean nothing special to me - I only like to share my pictures with some people all over the world. Hope you will change your mind and let us comment your Images in the future. It's always a pleasure to view your work here, Tony. Greetings from Germany Markus

I have been viewing your work for sometime and have truly enjoyed your images. I understand your position and hope this will not be your last image. I have almost totally quite commenting on other images and only post my images for people to enjoy and if they do not fine. I do not post my images for comments and I do not make comments on other images for comments on my images. Thank-you for your opinion it is a valid one.

What a beautiful young lady. I love her hair! lol Seriously, not guilty! I neither copy & paste comments, or favorite for the hell of it. I see that this cut and paste culture does exist, but one way to get around it might be that when you see it happen, copy and paste exact same comment back to their work! lol This really is exquisite work by the way. Gorgeous colours and perspective here. Very attractive indeed. Steve :o)
