Description

Please don't misunderstand darkness for emptiness... in that dark is where all inspiration comes from. It is the lack of presence which brings clarity to every thought. I dwell in the shadows in order to maintain my understanding and vision. Actions are the effect, but contained within the dark are the reasons for those actions. I do not hide, I only shelter myself from that light which, in all honesty, blinds us. I am never far away and never, ever out of touch. There is so much more to life than what most imagine... things best found for oneself. Don't hide from the dark, it is not that evil thing which you were taught to belive. It is, in itself, the great teacher... Just don't take the wrong turn in my pit, throwing your hands up in front of your face won't help... Seth

yes in fact we are mot meant to be afraid of darkness,it was the techings (the rligious ones for most part)who painted th imags of dark and light, but light can be darkness and vice versa. i will keep this in mind. i will add this to my favs, because it gets me "philosophing" over quite a few things.

A magnificent illustration of that which lies dormant in every artist, dispite their possible feelings to the contrary. We all have a dark side. Only those who truly embrace it can understand it and compel it to show us that which it conceals. Others, who shun it, are those that live in the fear of the shadows of their own mind, and are plagued by that which is concealed in darkness.

The title struck me as being rather Dante-esque (as in The Divine Comedy)and that was my first thought...I somewhat agree with your intro, but imo too much dark dwelling comes to no good....or maybe it's just personal experience whereof I speak...conversely, one must have the dark with the light, yin with the yang etc, so I think the key is to strike a happy medium A most intriguing post, Seth, and delightfully dark image ! B*B n Hugs ~

I adore it! Do you think it would like me if I invited it over for tea?Sometimes the things that dwell there just need someone to talk to. I would love to hear this guy's story.

This is a great image and well portrays the dark side. This concept of darkness was well understood by the Mesopotamian peoples and totally misundertood by the Christians. To see of what I speak go and read the original stories of Ereshkigal, Goddess of the Underworld. Often portrayed as an evil bitch she was rather the stern upholder of ultimate justice. Death is now thought of as evil rather than the facing up to ultimate justice and the chance to touch the devine -- if you have lived lives filled with justice.

I really like what you say about the dark and you are so right! Darkness is after all where we plant our seeds, there would be no life without it. The dark heals, I like to call it the alchemical center of transformation where all potential exists. Darkness is very faithful, it will reflect what we carry in our heart: fear and it will give us just that, love and it will nurture us. In darkness comes knowledge if one knows how to listen! It holds the Great Mystery and is the door to yet unknown worlds. We are born from darkness and darkness again we visit when we leave this Earth. The dark is our cauldron, our best friend, our Mother and we need to make peace with it so that we can be whole again and grow healthy seeds, it's time to understand that without darkness there would be no life, no light, no us. Great work Seth :)

You know my friend. Many thinks that to look at It is to see and they are mistaken undoubtedly. To contemplate despair of a passion, It is to touch the feelings perceived by our eyes and to give again savours with our spirit for that it absorb them like the distresses of our ideas and make them suited to the love which in releases. Not I am not insane for as much. Just some words to éclaicir my eccentric ideas in a dictation on despair of a certain glance not to foresee the bottom there of a thought MICKEYRONY ((5++)) Tu sais mon ami .
