Description

Wandering around my garden, the primroses are always there, giving me color on the grayest of days. This one is no exception.

I started working in the back yard to get it cleaned and weeded and pruned for the year. I hardly made a dent after several hours. I found 2 rose blooms in one rose bush and a half dozen ganzias but it was my herbs that really were impressive. I would have loved to have found flowers like this somewhere...might be I don't see them because I have never thought to add these to the collection! Silly me!

There's a tiny hint of purple peeking in as well. I love the way the stone/pottery contrasts against the edge.

the color is bright, but I love the jutting dried stems & petals around it too; and the thorny stem rising above it. A real mix of nature in one place. And these primroses look like they're on the tired-er side, maybe old, or just wheezed out after a jog...Amazing how flowers change, isn't it? And I like the blue thing on the bottom...bark? a tree stump? a flying saucer that came by for some food? Nice color...completes the shot for me. A very interesting combination of different worlds...
