Description

The February Forum Challenge is all about lighting. People are coming up with the most wonderful things ... go look, and see if you feel inspired! Anyone who knows me or has seen my photography knows what a fiend I am about light, so you just know I'm having WAY too much fun with this month's challenge! You can only post three images to each challenge topic, so I'm pacing myself back there, but I can still post all the neato light shots I want to out here in my gallery! :) I've been shooting this lamp off and on for months, but have never gotten quite what I wanted. Last night I was working with different lighting setups, and finally got something I liked. In color, this shot was a little too yellow for my tastes. It's got an incandescent light bulb, so it's hard to get away from that golden glow. The base of the lamp is sort of coppery-gold and white, so really ... color didn't add a thing to this image. (Even Marilyn liked it in b&w, which is totally amazing!) The lamp belonged to my grandmother, and it was always my favorite. I'm so pleased to have it in my home!

Superlative lighting effects achieved in this shot of the retro lamp. Doesn't look too difficult to keep clean and dust free.

I don't remeber you ever had a b&w shot but I have to admit I do love what you did with this lamp. Wonderful capture and work.
