Description

When I found out the February Forum Challenge was all about light, I got busy trying new things! Here we have a small glass vase (about three inches tall) sitting on my desk, which has a glass top. What you see in the bottom half of the photograph includes the reflection of a print that's hanging on the wall above my desk (large watercolor flowers), and it's framed with a glass front. The setup is as follows: The computer screen is on as a light source, just to the right of the vase. There are three candles just to the left (they're lit, of course!). There's a table lamp behind me and off to the right to provide a bit of ambient light. (As a matter of fact, it's the lamp that I posted a picture of yesterday.) All other lights are off. There's a flat black piece of fabric as a backdrop. You can see the camera settings in the EXIF data that accompany this shot. Oh ... and some postwork ... but not with the lighting! Fun fun fun!!! I've got more ..... :)

I like it.. but think the crop could be with a tad more upper space. Not alot, just a touch. Great lighting in this though. Very nice!

Sitting on the glass top gives the effect of the object floating. Your explanation of the setup is both interesting and highly plagarisable...if there is such a word :-). Glass tops are neat but now, that's something I don't have. Beautiful end result.
