Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Floating concrete filled with M&Ms. Now that's unusual. It never ceases to amaze me at the things that wash up on the beach. Great capture.

I'd have never guessed it was concrete. Really active little bugger, isn't it! Reminds me a little of your driftwood shots, with all the inner detail. Sharp eye at work, capturing this open surface with all its 'stuff' & detail, etc. Ever see the film "Big Night"? With Stanley Tucci, et al? If you did, do you remember the dish "timpani"? When they cut it open, it had 8 million ingredients inside, and this reminds me of that. A slice of a major delicacy...The sand around it is nice too (I agree with tara). Nice that you don't just shoot the big sea shots, you also look for the 'little' stuff all around. It's not so little when you look closeup...
