Description

Ever enjoy the sun so much that you stayed out too long and got badly burned? Ever love some type of food to where you finally couldn't stand it anymore? Or see a movie one too many times? Or hear a song til it made you want to puke? Or drink so much that you did? Took one too many hits of "cid"? Swam out too far and got a cramp? Plugged in a cord when it was damp? Drove your car around a curve too fast? Found a love that didn't last? Have you been to there and back again? Felt the spirit that lives within? Watched someone die before your eyes? Washed their wounds to keep away the flies? Have you been baptised in real blood? Slept under a blanket made of mud? Been strapped down tight on metal bed? Had electrodes pushed into your head? Felt the surge of pure energy of 1000 volts? Did your body twist bucking from the jolts? Have you ever tasted thorazine? Did it keep your thoughts pearly clean? Have you stabbed a man with bayonet? Ever woke up in intesive care? Wonder what brought you there? Been pronounced dead upon the scene? Pulled back by hands unseen? Poked and proded until you wake? Now pay for it with each breath you take? Ever saw the world from the other side? Wonder would have been better if I had died? Has my insane message reached you yet? I just wonder sometimes deep in my mind Wouldn't I be better dead? I can't leave these memories behind They are stuck firmly in my head. Some nights they still creep into my dreams I wake soaked with terrors sweat But now at least I rarely scream The things I can't forget... When you watch the war on tv set All comfy in your home Don't be jaded, never forget Some lay silent, dead and alone.

Starkly said and seen. to those who have the eyes to look. the truth can be too harsh even to those who profess to walk in it's "light" . Sometimes there IS no other way out then to ball up your fist and rage until you're numb. hugs Tabz

This is a strong message brother seth,i mean really,i am also one who saw war only on tv or played in video-games,chopped of heads blasted everyone whit nailguns or whatever big mothers, away who moved in the games even my own team. i would be a bad soldier i guess, because i shoot as soon as anything moves i mean , i was never trained to do lucky me possibly. just imagine both of us in a tent on whatever front, you go out for a pee and me next to you frightened as hell, and i shoot your balls of. i made this joke by purpose to lighten a bit up this scenery, although i take it serious. if some of the big shots would have to go through this ,they would for sure take a diffrent approach to things. again strong msg. keep it up,this shakes up.!!

As with much of your work your writing can overwhelm the image. I am not complaining but merely atating that this could have easily stood in the writers gallery without the picture, which to my mind is not supporting the weight of such a powerhouse piece of prose. A pure black background with perhaps all but the tinest single point of light would also have worked. This could hardly have been written by someone who has not lived it and it makes me wonder what demons of the past are living in you that boil to the surface to make works like this. I look at your picture and I have a guess as to the ultimate source but cannot know for sure of course. Amazing prose, worthy of seeing light of day in print.

The words are very powerful. I hate to think of the things that went on, as it surely hurts my heart to know what you and others went through. I can only pray you can find peace. I am always amazed with your work & words Seth.

Hi Seth, René and I had this morning a big discussion about the "US Veterans", I must always think about the poor mothers who have lost her son for.ex. in the middle east, and what, mostly young guys, had to pass trough, there is no expression for it (I lost also 2 of my 3 kids - Diana 23 y. in 1996 and Steve 35 y.in 2006) and I can feel the sorrows of them. During the last War my father was a soldier on the submarines (those which came out there, have more or less very bad and unforgotable souvenirs from that time. (5+) You are in my prayers, that you can find peace in your heart and in your mind! Hug's bro, have a nice weekend, Ute PS. Sorry for my bad english

Strong feelings to spank the soul. Without knowing the background... It occurs to me we are maybe talking Vietnam, Cambodia, maybe. Maybe you went through all that.. i hope not. It was hell to everyone there.. the human tragedy of it is... Young men gave their lives for their country... Their country did not give a fuk about those who came home. If you don't like my comment... i can delete it...just say the word. But that is my experience, with this fine piece. Strong feelings and suffering..canalised into artwork..+5

all of you have voiced my feelings very well... thank you for seeing past the words, and feeling what some of us lived, and still live daily. And to all of my Brothers out there.... take care and always watch your six. Seth

Seth, I understand your words and have seen many of those things personaly. The best advice I can give is to find an outlet either writing, 3D art, or what ever it takes, but use that outlet. Otherwise it will eat you alive, trust me on that one. The words arte perfect, they give me chills, the render is hardly needed for this piece but adds to its feel!

Always wisdom in words and Seth works. Your heart so large then all to take misfortunes of the warriors but can to return the heart of unquestionable noble for a life better and without wars.

Incredibly powerful and immensely strong words. And while I can honestly answer some of those posed questions with a yes, those that I cannot make me shudder with absolute terror at those who can and who wake with those thoughts, feelings, fears and memories emblazened in their minds. As so many of your works, your words move me to tears and wrench at the very heart of me. Powerful words and a powerful image.
