Mark it is amazing you were able to compose this one, and I can't get over the detail that must have taken you forever. I must agree with the artist above that this is such high quality most people would think it was a photo. Really great stuff

quite a different look at winter, you keep changing things to the eye and mind, yet its beautiful and calming and reminds of winter quite a lot, mark :)

Makes me want to sit by the fire with a big mug of coffee, snuggle in and read a good book--what else can you do on a cold winter's day??

Beautiful piece, Mark. It fools the eye into seeing different perspectives: one could be looking at snow on an asphalt road, or it could be a winter night with stars peeking through the falling snow. I like how you have created all of the individual contrasting zones with color, light, and texture. Very rhythmic yet at the same time very calming. Wonderful!

I really thought it was a shot from winter with a little filter on, but again you make wonders with your pencil pastels and gouache. It is very beautiful indeed. I love the colors very much. I wish i was a fly on the wall when you made this :)))

Masterful craftsmanship, Mark. Love your handmade pieces. A pleasure to see mind and hand cooperate. I really like the rustic look on this. Fantastic colouring, too..blue snow.. At night maybe...Somehow..it feels like a dream about a massive snow storm.+5

Do you realize if you come to the St. Paul winter carnival and look at the sky through one of the ice sculptures it would probably look JUST like this?? I see the glare of the moon, the clouds, some stars and the glow from a purple neon sign. :-D This is very cool. I can see you've sparked everyone's imagination.
