Description

Evening in a little cafe somewhere on the mediteranean coast. Call it a wip, because there are a lot of things that can be improved on it. Like, stars are too big, water is too light, shadows are too purple, it needs candles on the tables, and some people in the scene, having dinner is a little seaside mediterranean cafe.... and I would like to try and plug in IBL. I don't think I'll have time to go that far with improvements before the weekend is over.... So, here is what I have so far. It's supposed to be sort of a fake night lighting, with exaggerated moonlight ambience, so people can still see what's in the image. I put it in the mixed mediom... originally I assembled the scene in Daz Studio, but it wouldn't render - it was running out of memory. So was Poser and Cararra. Finally I decided to give ole Bryce a try, and sure enough, it plodded along and rendered it all out. As for sontent, the base is Stonemasons Streets of the Mediterranean. Lot of Lisa's botanicals, and little bits and pieces from many other packages across Rendo, DAZ and RDNA.

I like it! It looks like it is getting prepared for the late evening crowd! and the light can be attributed to a very bright full moon

You did a terrific job on this Connie [^^] I hope evryone that looks zooms in on this, The dirt/gravel along side the steps and under the garden stones is just perfect and makes the whole image look very realistic, The light inside the wall lamps is absolutely great !! Did you use bryce lights inside the lamps? you know a lot of people talk against Bryce for rendering but I think it is still one of the best 3D programs out there for rendering and I use it all the time, I've never had any luck at all with Daz studio,Poser just doesn't render glass like Bryce does. This will be a faovorite of mine [^^] oh , by the way, If you can find a nice photo of stars,,,heres what I do sometimes, In Bryce I duplicate the ground plane and tilt the duplicate up verticle and move it back away from the main scene a littl then I import the star image and put it on the vertcal ground plane...but in a case like that you may have to put some sort of lighting to shine on the background and you may have to adjust the image on the background or move the background in or oute or sideways to make the star image fit [^___^] NICE IMAGE!!!Keep it up [^^] !!!! Cheers, Roger

Connie I think this looks lovely. Someday there will be a program that makes stars look real.

Very beautiful for a WIP :) The bottom border needs a bit of aligning to the left edge of the frame, and yeah the stars in the sky could use a little work... Pretty good for a sample backdrop placeholder. I love how you mix & matched all the different props from the assorted sets across Rendo, RDNA and Daz. The purple shadows are a bit odd, but the very slight purplish tinge in the scene lighting really adds that lifelike warm-ness feel / look to the scene. It might be tinting the white cushions to a light lilac color (hey, thats the color of our kitchen walls :) ) but you've also got some lilac or mauve colored potted plants there. I don't get along with Bryce very well, but it still amazes me how stunning images can be made within it. Btw, as for the stars, I think I've got something that'll help you :)

Very natural looking. The guests have long gone. The only thing that disturbs me are the reflections of the stars on the water. If you use the Custom stars in Bryce, the sky would look more real. Nevertheless, this picture brings back nice memories of similar places.

Looks great. One possibility for injecting people into the scene would be to have a solitary waiter (or waitress) arranging the last chair into place.

Oh wow - what a terrific, ambiance filled scene! I've been to the mediterranean - (Greece - Spain) and I could've sworn I've been to this exact place. Great job on the render. Only issue I have (minor) is the stars. If you have Photoshop, Gimp, or Paint Shop Pro, try a new layer, use a hard, round brush to create different size dots, then blur some of them and keep the smalles ones sharper...hope this helps. Thanks for commenting on my picture "Lost in Thought." Appreciated! Gun aka redheadgrrl
