Description
Duesa: Oh dear! We may have a problem, dear.
Norika: what do you mean a problem? I've never felt this way before and I don't like it! What's going on? Please tell me, Duesa!
Duesa: Let me ask you something, Norika, do the flying fae eat more than anyone else? what I mean, is do you eat more food at dinner than, let's say an elf?
Norika(clutching her middle): Yes we do, but why do you ask?
Duesa: Well, as near as I can figure out, you and the flying fae have to eat more than anyone else in order to maintain the energy levels required to fly and possibly work the Wilde magic. This in turn means that you have to process your foods faster than anyone else as well.
Norika: So? How is that going to help me?
Duesa: Be patient, dear. I'll get to what is going on inside you. When a person eats food, it's processed in the stomach and the intestines, the guts if you will, into substances that the body can use and convert to energy that is need to perform tasks. You ate two big plates of pork-n-beans tonight as well as the hotdogs and chips and sodas.
Norika: Yes I did, they all tasted good.
Duesa: Yeah, I know, Mrs. Wallac does do a good job with the bean dishes, she adds other things to it to enhance them. However, what I'm getting at is that during the process of digestion of beans, one of the by-products is gas! And that is what is happening to you now. Because you processed it faster, the gas build up is quite sudden.
Norika: Okay, but how do I get rid of the gas?
Duesa(smiling): Well, two natural ways is to burb or belch, if you wish and that passes the gas out of the mouth and the other way is to pass gas out your backside. Do you understand?
Norika: Yes I do, but how?
Duesa: Well Nori, you don't mind if I call you Nori do you?
Norika: No, it's my nickname back home, Bambi calls me that all the time.
Duesa: Thank you! Well Nori, you just got to let yourself relax and it will occur on its own.
Norika: Wait, Duesa! I feel something happeni.. BRAAAPAAAPPAAPPPPPAPAPPAP!
Duesa(trying hard not to laugh): My gods girl, are you okay? Wow! For such a small body, you sure packed a heck of a belch! I haven't heard anything like that in a very long time.
Norika(smacking her mouth): I feel better in my upper body now, but yuck, it tastes horrible. Why are you laughing?
Duesa: I'm sorry, Nori, I can't help myself I was thinking of the contests in college where they actually rate the belch and if I were any judge, I'd say that your belch was a nine point seven five out of ten.
Norika (trying not to giggle): Is that good?
Duesa: Oh yes, Nori! I could win money betting on your belches! that was impressive. (looking at Norika intently) are you okay, Nori?
Norika (squirming a bit): Like I said the upper part is a lot better but now my lower part is feeling tight.
Duesa(giggling): Like I said earlier, the gas comes out the mouth and the bottom. Again, just relax and it will pass on through and you should feel a lot better.
Norika: Oookay! I trust you, Duesa! How come you know all this stuff?
Duesa: Well, while Corinda is studying Fashion, I'm majoring in health, particularly diets and how to eat healthy and live better by eating right.
Norika: Oh! Are pork-n-beans healthy?
Duesa: I wouldn't want to make a steady diet of them, occassionally having them is okay, but definitely...Oh LORDS! WHAT IS THAT SMELL?!?!?!?!?!
Norika(panic stricken): I'm sorry!!! I relaxed like you said to and...
Duesa(laughing and gagging): Oh woman, that smell is horrible!
Norika(holding her nose): Then why are you laughing?
Duesa(falling off the rock bench): The look on your face when the smell hit you and right now, It's priceless!!!!!
Norika(covering her face and trying not to laugh): I'm so embarrassed!
Mrs. Wallac: What are you two girls shrieking about...Oh my gods what's that horrible smell?
Duesa(rolling on the sand): It's Norika and the beans she ate?
Norika: I'm sorry Mrs Wallac, really I am
