Description

here is another shot from last year. 10/10/08 ISO 200 they was cutting the 4th year cane for it did not come out good. They told me it was the two storms that hit here in the summer. So all they did with it was cut it and left it on the ground. Some times the 4th year is good but not last year. The cane was turning fast but I had the speed on high 1/160 . i got a lot of photo of this here is just one. Oh they grow the cane for 4 years; cut in each year at the fall time hahah useing my gallery here as a personal blog. i thought about that to day and it hit me every one here is doing that. They post babies ; cats; dogs; 2d and 3d stuff. We all is like little kids run to show mom some image we have so she can tape it to the ice box. So let all keep on posting on the RR ice box hahahahahhaahahahahah

You are SOOO right, Jock! We are so proud of what we do, what we see and what we learn. We can't wait to show off our efforts and tell everyone about them. Also sort of "show and tell." But sometimes, art comes in the form of learning and sometimes it is one picture that says volumes, and other times it is just a picture that goes with a good story. All of it is art and all of it is in the telling. I love this shot and what you have said about when they cut it. I hate hearing about it being a bad crop though. Money gone back into the earth... Outstanding work.

Cool POV employed in this cool shot of the cutter, just chugging along and chopping away with glee, Jock.

This is a cool shot! I agree with you about it being us just wanting to show what we see. I love to see things that I will never see myself in person.

It is always a kind of strange to see Nature destroys what she/it has left to feed us. Thanks for the shot.

LOL, Jock, you are so right, and I love that idea .. posting our stuff on the RR fridge!! This is a terrific picture! You got so clearly and no blurring at all on the blades! Wow! I've learned things I never knew about sugar cane over the last year. Thanks for that and the terrific visuals.

A most astute observation on RR human behavior! I couldn't agree more! You have also a fine capture of the agriculture scene! Most informative as well! Thank you for sharing thoughts and artistic skills! Very much appreciated!

One of your best, Monsieur Jacqueau--the cane caught in fluid movement, not random nor chaotic but bound by both its form and the hopper.

Love the refrigerator door analogy! That's exactly right. I love standing in front of the fridge, looking at everyone's artwork. :) Great shot of the cane cutter in action!

Must have been a bit scary standing in front of the cane-cutter, I can imagine a photgrapher wouldn't last very long...brave capture Jock ! As for the blog stuff, I have to disagree...this is mainly and firstly a 3d site and I post 3d renders which take a lot of time to set up and to get it right, unlike photos, nuff said. ~Cheers~

Great head on shot of the cane cutting process to go with the others you have shown. And yes, we all share a bit of our lives here, don't we? :)
