you've made this into a very bold abstract, delineating the layers of light into separate 'auras'. And because of your postwork, all the shapes have a bold & tactile feeling. I always like this kind of interpretation—i.e., making every area of light & dark into separate 'bands'. In fact, since you often ask, that's how I make my maps: I follow the 'bands' implied by each grade of color; and I make each gradation into a 'topographical area', actually drawing circles around them (like your delineated areas here), until I amass a "continent". It's very similar to what you've done to this picture: breaking it into bands of color, light & texture. Finding the structures inside mere colors...that's a map! I resonate with this image...really nice work, Helle.
