Description

Here is something a little different. We were trekking through Oak Creek Canyon, when the clouds started to appear in the distance, and as we learned a few days earlier in New Mexico at "Pecos Pueblo"(the link in case you interested in that story), the storms in the desert can move very quickly and be upon you before you know it, so we decided it was time to hike out. Near a creek in canyon is not a good place to be if it decides to rain in the desert! On our way out, we passed this very cool tree. I didn't have time to think about it or take more than 2 shots. I did not come any where near doing justice to this great tree... but here it is, cropped a bit, desaturated and framed. Thanks for stopping by :) My previous upload, "Oak Creek". Have a great week and I'll be back some time next week. HUGS, ~Melinda~

I see the cactus hiding in the grasses...a little trick cactus likes to play on humans... LOL This is really a wonderful shot of this tree and I like the person in the distance on the path as well.

Tons of shadow play and textures in this stellar capture of the venerable old tree, but is that concrete on the trunk? It sure looks like some kind of rock that was poured onto the side.
