Description

Here's a tourist shot from the top of Rockefeller Center (see "30 Rock") looking north. From left to right: New Jersey, the George Washington Bridge over the Hudson River, Upper West Side (very ritzy), and Central Park - one of the most marvelous urban greenspaces on the planet. The large open grassy area is home to "Strawberry Fields." If you look carefully and slightly above to the left you can see the Dakota Building (triangle shapes on the roof) where John Lennon lived.

Now, this is a post card capture. This really does show off Grand Central Park. I grew up 20 miles east of here on Long Island. I never realized the lakes in the park were this big. George Washington and his Colonial Army also retreated north through here...but my specifics are a little weak without refreshing my facts. Well done.

It is indeed one of the most diverse cityscapes seen. A pano of activity as well as solitude. Stunning.
