This statue of St Scholastica is a copy of the one sculptured by Campi in 1736. The original was destroyed in the fighting of 1944 when most of the Abbey was reduced to rubble and many lost their lives. The inscription on the statue says...
"Veni columba mea, veni, coronaberis" "Come my dove,(St Scholastica)come, you will be crowned"
