Description


Gibson Mill also known locally as Lord Holme Mill.Located a short walk from Hebdon Bridge - Yorkshire. Built in 1800 it was one of the first generation mills of the industrial revolution. Inside the mill was a water wheel which drove the machinery to produce cloth until 1890.There were 21 workers employed at the mill in 1833,each working an average of 72 hours a week.

Such a lovely spot! This is a wonderful photograph. I'll admit the tilt bothers me a bit ... maybe a degree or two CW would fix it ... but aside from that small item, this is totally pleasing to the eye. A restful place, despite its history.

stunning photo, love the colours, compo and light. I get a slight sense I'm falling over to the left though, could have done with a tiny rotation to the right imo. my mother's side of the family comes from Yorkshire, my grandfather worked his whole life in a mill such as this, never saw it looking as picturesque as this though, nice job!
