Description

Henderson is a town and is a swamp by it. You cross I-10 going by the town and the sign says "Atchafalaya basin". these old stumps been around aa long time. Cypress is a wood that do not roit much. The trees was cut down for the wood. I not sure when but was heard a long time ago. took this when moonrancher was here and we rented a boat for the day to ride around. I messed up and had a polarise fither on the len. It turn all my photos blue in color and took out the fog that was setting over the swamp. Was not a heavy fog but it look nice. Big building you see in background may be a place to eat and a boat place too. forgot the name of the place. lol but I know it good food there. They was rebuilding it for the big storms took out parts of the place thanks I know the pichure have a tild to it a little. I got a bad habit of shooting like this. I had a program that would straighten the photos up . but my .dll is bad and was moved

Fantastic capture, and choice of motif, Jock. Fascinating that the cypress has that amazing resistance towards rot. The stumps looks amazing with the snowy background. Almost look like a after-war scenario.

I have understood your comments Jocko...and it is a real problem with filters even you have a polarized filter on your objective...so the blur seems like snow on the water ! Astonished !!! Beautiful shot on a boat...

Monsieur Jacqueau, throw away the goddamned camera, get some canvas and acrylics, build a raft and paint the goddamned scene from life. With two eyes and a brush you will have a goddamned masterpiece.

First thought was "poor place for sailboats." Like others, did not know about the slow rotting rate on cypress.

Interesting about the cypress as well as the polarizing lens. That sure was a great day! Hey! It looks good to me. The muted colors are great, and I like how you got the sun sparkling on the water in the foreground. I too like to click here and there, and see all the visual choices and then share a few with like-minded people. Brushes are too slow for me a lot of the time, although I can enjoy them sometimes. Funny to come over to the Landscape Photography Gallery and tell somebody to go paint. Go figure! LOL

Woodsman, spare that tree! Interesting capture of the dark decapitated Cypress trees amidst the snow, Jock. The sharp stumps would make a good defense against invading paratroopers.

The shot is very heavy and sad. Dead "bodies" standing the in water...waiting...but nothing ever comes. Stunning work.
