Great concept, Mark. Your pieces always make me think. I like how you candevelop an idea over a number of panels.

Mark first let me say how thrilled I am you are back and how great it is to see so many wonderful images recently. To start with the colors in these images are very soothing and among my favorites as I am a fan of blue. Each little Mapp-ette as you call them seems to have a life all it's own or maybe a story behind it I hope you will share. The first caught my eye instantly as it has so many light and almost feather like details throughout. The other two are super also and seem to almost signify a direction

Mark, you always amaze me by your art. I would so like to be a fly on the wall while you work on these lovely maps. It is so fascinating and unique art and I love it.

I find the bottom one very appealing, there is a figure/ground conflict that I see that makes me want to look at it longer. Postmark, islands from space, a landscape, sumi-e abstraction ... yes. Great looking set overall.

The first one oppen my eye:the map is the ground.I look and i saw a detailed "hole" like if the map had run away..to an infinit space(i´m sorry if i´m silly, but it was what i felt)In the others i see shapes, lines and signals swimming in blue to somewhere, but the three going together. The different textures of blue make me thing the last one seems water. They look very good!

These are fascinating and so creative! It kind of reminds me of zooming down on a map on the net. Each zoom changes the character of the area entirely. Awesome work!

The paper textures give a sense of sea around land...as do the shades of color. All goes together very nicely.

i was thinking of islands and the sky and paths, thats what came up while i was scrolling down. these maps may be little, but they unfold to something else before our inner eye, wonderful work, mark :)

Wonderful craftsmanship and idea, Mark. Love the colour choice. Looks very much like islands, and beautiful green oceans, surrounding them. The last one is funny.. Looks a bit like a man swimming towards a raft.. with a big shark after him #:o) But it also has the character of a post stamp.+5

This is easy. These are sonar images copied onto parchment and linen. Reminds me of the game Battleship. Just enough showing - just enough hiding. Lovely!
