Description

working on creating forest. This one is pushed to the maximum ammount of memory i can use before mojoworld crashes. later on i will add use of the switcher object and more variation in coloring. Tried building a mojotree but with full detail it just takes to much memory.

Fantastic results! Im assuming youve used mesh branches for the trees?! What app did you use to create the meshes they look great. As for MJT memory management...tell me about it...its a nightmare!! :( Was this on 32 or 64 bit OS? I can notice some repetition in the trees so perhaps ading a Z rotate to the meshs driven by a noise function thru 360 in worldpos...small LFS....will help create more randomness. Keep us a breast of how things progress. Im eagerly watching this one :)))

yep this is mesh trees (forgot to write it sorry). it's 32 bit OS (winxp). They where created using onyx tree professionel 4.3, a very nice tree maker. Is it possible to run mojoworld under 64 bit winxp or Vista have you tried it ? if so can mojoworld uttilize more mem ?? You are absolutely right it's the same tree over again without any change. Nice suggestion there that would create some variation..thanks

Great start! Other parameters in mesh-trees are available, including scale as well as rotate & color. You might also consider importing the trunks and main-branches as separate objects - that would give more variation. Keep going!

Looks great! How long did it take to render?

unfortunately i didn't save the rendertime on this one, so i can't tell. but probably 12+ hours. The leaves a pretty big which means i didn'øt needs that many pr tree which agian means less shadow calculations. i am doing another with a different tree and more color variation with alot of leaves and the shadow calculations takes a long time even with low shadow map size (128)

Nice render. Some work on breaking up the repetition a bit would be cool.

Ansich Cool gemacht ! Nur etwas mehr Terrainstrukturen hätte gut getan :-)

The tree model looks great. Been a while since I did any MJT forest renders so it's nice and refreshing to see this in the gallery.
