Description

Captured this very morning, 2/19/09, bright and early, about a mile and one-third from my hedonistic habitat. Since auntietk, frankie96, bmac62 and others have posted glassware photographed under various lighting conditions, I thought I might as well toss in something of my own. Pictured above are some shots of a wall-mounted glass block decorative piece that offers a study in tortuous and undulating effects, including ghostlike apparitions. Not as reflective, sparkling and super contrasting as Tara's and Fenton's glassware, which were photographed under studio conditions, but the subject matter in this case is comparatively unique. The top photo shows the glass block combo in overall relation to the wall, and the bottom pics show it closeup. Better viewed full size. Thankx for the peek, and have a torrid Thursday.

Cool capture Harry. Fascinating to see what ppl use for fence decoration. The close up make for a good abstract.

I love glass blocks; what a great find and capture, I especially love the bottom closeup. Is there a light inside? It would be cool to see it at night all lit up!

MrsRatbag: No artificial lighting in this instance. The only light inside the blocks was generated by the bright morning sun.

Neat effects Harry. Remember when these things used to be incorporated frequently? Today, they seem to have become rather rare. Like these three shots at full size. You've got 'em crystal clear.

I like the bottom best (as it has the least distractions). Very interesting.

I love these things in-our-face: Full view these really are bold...this kind of glass is always a cornucopia of light-play & illusions, and it's just another form of glassware, not less or less interesting. In each shot you have parts in shadow, and the mortar (or concrete) is blue, which I really like. A big bold in-your-face capture of the commonplace, looking very new and very strange. And I like how you made them bigger as we go down...I really like this shot.
