"Neila as the Goddess Scota"
January 2013
Been at this site five years now and have seen a lot of growth - both artistically and spiritually thanks to the many good friends I have met here. I work with Poserpro2012, photoshop CS6, PSPX2, Perfect Effects 3 and Photomatrix 4. I love working in the material room and continue to find lots of growth there. I also do a lot of postwork fixing, special affects, and framing, all for which photoshop is indispensible. I love doing postwork; no image is anywhere near complete without it.
In the last year or so I've added quite a bit of photography to my gallery. I started with a Nikon Coolpix 9100 point and shoot. It gives amazing quality and its small size makes it easy to pack around and just grab some shots as they come into my vision. I still use it for sneaky people shots but now I use a Nikon D5100 DSLR for my more serious keeper work. Had I known how all consuming my passion for photography would become I should have jumped to a D600 low end pro camera. In my gallery you will see mostly storylines based upon my own visions and versions of Mesopotamian Mythology, sprinkled with some Celtic works and an occasional pinup or two and quite a few special requests. I have long been a writer, though a terrible speller, and so most of my images come with a storyline or poem. No image seems complete to me without words to accompany them.In high school I trained in both the Sciences and Fine Arts but when I went to university I had to choose one or the other and so I went with the life sciences. Art dropped out of my life for a long time... though I never gave up my interest in archeology and mythology. I wound up with a graduate degree in the life sciences with majors in physical geography, ecology and evolutionary biology. My love of nature and a deep naturalistic spirituality eventually led me to the wikkan tradition. Some five and a half years ago I discovered poser after coming across some great 3-d art on the web and after some six months of stumble bum practice I joined this site.Doing this type of art has released many visions and stories that were locked up inside my soul for many ages. It has allowed me to explore the life and times of my primal spiritual ancestor, a girl also named Roxanne, who lived in the Sumerian regions. She whispers the stories of these classic legends in my mind and I create the images to go with them.My stories are mostly written as dialogue and they tend to be rather long. So grab a coffee, a tea or better yet a beer, kick back, relax and stay a while.I hope you enjoy your stay here.Hugs and blessed beRoxy

Roxy this is like the best of so many worlds for me right now. First no one does a Fantasy image like you and as always your story really brings this scene to life so well. This dedication to Valery really is a great one and she deserves something nice like this. Finally by using the lovely Neila by Nicole you really made it complete for me as she is such a dear friend and worked so hard on this wonderful character.

I don't see joy, at least not in a "happy happy" kind of way. She's somewhat frightful to my eye. Great use of the Neila character again and thanks for pointing out a great new artist to watch.

Roxy, girl. You did another fantastic render.Nicole should be pleased with what you did with her beautiful Goddess character Neila. The render and the post work are seamlessly intigrated. Like her smile. So if I read the story right, she gets killed in the next episode. You will make it a spectaular scene I am sure. Excellent job on these last 2 renders. Safe travels sweetie.

Oh, but I love her smile. It's truly lovely. It was the first thing I noticed about this picture. Wonderful details - that tree texture is amazing. Great smoky effects. Great pose and fabulous lighting. Love her red hair - it looks almost real. Really cool fantasy work. I'll miss seeing your pictures while you're away. (sniff)

I think the expression is STUNNING and very fitting! She looks beautiful and a wonderful dedication to a very talented new artist! Beautiful work, my dear, as always! And LOVE how you've used Kilgorin (or whatever the prop name for the sword is, I just know the blade from the Swords of the Ancients) for Scota. It fits her beautifully! Safe journeys and may the Gods watch over you. You'll be missed but have a safe trip and know that more than a few of us are going to be anxiously awaiting your return!

Nice one Roxy! I like thatyou have shown her in "Full Battle Rattle" as it is called over here, and I have to say that even though I would like to see her in the middle of a War Cry, I think this would bother me more. I would be scared wittless to see a beautiful redhead in black armor running at me with a sword in each hand and smiling like that! To me she is not showing bravado, it would be more like a psycological tool, ancient psy-ops of a sort. Could you imagine the conversation... Did you see that crazy redhead leading the charge today? Hell yeah, she looked damn sexy in that armor, at least I thought that until she got closer. She was SMILING!!! That is one redhead you want to stay away from boys! Anyone crazy enough to smile like that, you don't wnat to know!! Sorry the diolog isn't as good as yours but you know what I am saying. Outstanding use of background to help set the tone of the picture too.

THis is a really fantastic scene, love the action/pose/movement you gave to the character her body. The light lits her skin and outfit and the swords very good, it's giving your character a real human look. The haze gives it a mysterious look and the background makes your scene compleet. Fabulous picture!!5+++++++ Roxy i like her very much!!!!!! Wauw Roxy i just gave a good look at the title again, an there i saw my name.( sorry i just woke up and at first i didn't see you made it for me, at first i saw your artwork and i was stunned by it already and i add the text above to your picture, i deleted my first comment and gave you an update, so here is my new comment) I feel very honoured by this, that you made this for me.... you don't know how happy that makes me. My cheeks turned totally red and i have a very big smile on my face now. Thank you very much for this and also for the Friendship and again for the Huge compliment you give me in the text you wrote next to this beautiful picture..
