Description

Quiet day on the coast of Maine. In the color version...in all honesty, there was just too much blue IMHO :) Bill

I can only dream of 'too much blue' with our present anticyclonic gloom! But a super composition, Bill!

Beautiful shot Bill! I have a few rocky spots here I have to visit! Nice post work as well!

The shore, rocky or mudflat is always interesting. Good capture of the curling breaker farthest off shore; the closer-in spuming breaker; the minor ripple; and finally the sand-moving foaming swash. Although interrupted by rocks, the wave-front pattern refracts and here lands about 90 degrees from the open-water direction. Always interesting, the shore.

Still looks like a place I'd like to walk. A great idea to post in B?W. Gives it a different perspective. Good job again, Bill. Rob.

I think the black and white brings more definition and highlights the waves more, possibly. Great shot Bill, hugs Jane xx

I have to agree, the black and white shows a lot of texture and contrast, nicely done Bill.

Hahaha. Too much blue. Yeah, you're probably right, but what a thought. Excellent in B&W. Reminds me of how timeless the waves are, and powerful. Great work, Bill.

Fine array of sharp contrasts and textures in this splendid composition, Bill! I believe Photoshop has a whole arena of color control filters to handle your blue problem.

Waves and surf in any colour create the crashing sounds in my ears, I can hear it now and if I shut my eyes I can include a gull or two. Nice shot !

You have created a great atmosphere by keeping making b&w Bill. Reminds me of the 50s.

Good to see the sea, the mood can change so much between colour and blick and white.
