Description

From their headquarters at Bradburyton the Eartheners controlled all that stellar quadrant, but they lived separated by metal and crystal from the dying world on which their basis rised. Every now and then they would send a platoon of S-Marines to the towns of the Austral Canals , more to discourage Earthener smugglers than to keep the natives in check... The story and the setting are inspired by the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs, Ray Bradbury and Leigh Brackett. Thank you to all people who appreciated the previous picture! Thank you for viewing and drop a note if you like! DAZ: Michael 3; Xurge 3D: S_Marine M3; Stonemason: The Streets of Asia; ElorOnceDark: The Privateer; Anna Benjamin: The Privateer.

Nice strong silhouette un-muddled by the background, well done. The ground plane or water plane under the bridge is uncontaminated by the very red sky. It's the one element that draws my attention from the foreground and looks out of place. Very nice Venetian mask series, btw. And thanks for having a wander through my gallery, forced to make me view some of my past "mistakes". Ah well, live and learn. ; )

Another most excellent composition! I think it is marvelous you picked up on deci63l's observation about the water! I know I have gone back on some of my images and made changes to them after posting! Love the setting, colors and characters you have drawn together for this series! I think you are on to something. Have you ever read the trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson, Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars? I read them several years ago and found them most interesting and thought provoking. I think I will have to dig them out again and re-read them. Love this composition! Great job! 1,000,000,000,000+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Bradbury.. An excellent "dedication" he'd be honored with such a city named after him.. Does look like something out of his books.

I decided it was time I went back and started from the beginning. So I shall do at least two at a time and hopefully catch up before too long. This is beautiful! I love the architecture, particularly the oriental looking building on the left. Great POV, looking up at the soldiers. That and their heavy uniforms and arms, give them a very menacing air. Excellent colors and sky! I haven't read any of Edgar Rice Burroughs or Leigh Brackett, but I've read a lot of Ray Bradbury.

Like Lucinda, above, I'm starting at the beginning too (I commented on the first a little ways back). Having read several of your installments from the pdfs, I noticed how you started in small snippets, and then eventually wrote longer sections. It's really fun, because with the beginning segments, your drawings are like a slide show with small captions that allow us to imagine 'what's to come'. Then as you move along, everything intensifies, and each installment is right in the thick of things. Interesting how the earth people (eartheners) are living over some kind of dying world. You're setting up your readers for something very enticing. (And we ask, what are they smuggling out there...) The image is a lot about pov: The looming front soldier dominating the left half, the other soldier pointing to the right (the roof of the building behind him in partial harmony with his gun; and the predominance of sky compared to ground---ie, we see the place saturated by those red gaseous skies, and just hints of what's below. A good start, because you're whetting the appetite for more revelation of what's to come...Though this is the start of this novel, your previous visuals already established you as a fine maker of images, and this image seems wholly at home with what you want to say...
