Description
Yes I know I have been slacking and not posting anything for a long long time. I have no excuses.
Here is a little image of Comet Lulin passing very close to your planet Earth, (38 Million Miles) on February 24th. It was taken with an Atik 16HRC camera on an 80mm Apochromatic refracting scope, guided with a small QGuide camera on another 80mm scope, both mounted on my Celestron ASGT mount. OK now I have bored the bejesus out of most of you, this is only a 30 second exposure.
This little comet is bright. It is an odd dirty snow ball too. The green color is from Cyanogen gas, very poisonous, very peculiar. The sun has pulled this comet in from the Oort cloud, why? no one knows, and has accelorated it so much it is now being ejected from the solar system. We will NEVER see it again. (well maybe you earthlings will never see it again).
Go to www.heavens-above.com to find out where the comet is right now.

Glad you were able to get a snap. We've had clouds, rain and snow and the sky has been very stubborn about clearing up at the right time.

I was wondering if you were going to get a shot of this. Nicely done, I didn't get a chance to spot it personally.

Ok, now I am very jealous. I went looking for this guy last week and no bananas. Thanks for posting this photo so I know that it was really there. 5+++ and also an immediate fav for me!

And soon 2009 22P/Kopff will be visible. Perhaps you will be in a position to capture that one as well. I'm afraid prospects for me are slim... not in the best of places to see it from here. Cool capture.

Although I haven't understand anything about the technical details, this is a stunning capture. It's sad he's left our solar system forever. Congratulations! Hug!
