Description

Yesterday I posted a foto of a Ti plant** against a yellow wall. Denise (mrs ratbag) suggested I crop it. I took her advice, though probably much further than she would have. I have another version, most likely closer to her idea. This one just has a minimalist, almost Zen like quality to it. I liked it. Tara also had a few words of advice for me. I'm starting to get it!! Ti plant

Oh honey, Tara has a few words of advice no matter what the topic! LOL! You're doing just fine.

This is great! One of the things about drawing is that the 'spaces inbetween' are every bit as important as the objects. This is a PERFECT illustration of this!

I like the vivid colors and free flow of the image, and I also like Denise, but I prefer the composition before it was chopped off at the bottom.

Neat point made by Andrea above. I've already seen where you wind up going with this...and although this wasn't my favorite...it is really growing on me. Not the plant, the photo :-)

it is zen-like, and Andrea's point is absolutely spot on. (She should know about drawing: She's emerging—with maybe a month of uploads—as one of the best 2D artists we have, hands down: Imagine what's sitting around her house!) Really nice change-up & experiment with space & POV. It has a Japanese feel, the way they took one portion of a plant and let it sit against empty space as a 'statement'—both in art and in their actual gardens. And the 2 tones of wall add another abstract element too. I'm a sucker for series of any kind, but this kind really explores the inner nature of a shot. Thanks, I really like what you did here.
