Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Hey Marilyn, that's beautiful!

I used to wonder how folk did such fab flower arrangements, and then in my late forties I discovered they had all been CHEATING, using Oasis and suchlike! Finally I was able to do it too! These look good with the blue.

Maybe that's what I need to make some flowers look better around here. I've never passed beyond the simple vase. Mighty colorful...most attractive arrangement.

This is gorgeous, the colors and textures are fabulous! I have a friend who lives in the foothills of Mt. Diablo in the SF Bay area, and every year she and her daughters plant THOUSANDS of daffodils on the hillsides around there. Spring is something to see around there!

The daffs are great, but you know I would have been just as happy with a picture of all that wet glass in the sun! :)

Nice combo with the yellow and blue. I needed something down to earth today. Still having hot flashes from "Naughty Bits". Dana P

How unique...daffodils sitting in a glass container of orbs and blue ink. Never heard that done before, but you're the expert in these kind of things, so who am I to question your tactics. In any event, a good POV, colors, lighting effects and textures in this shot, Marilyn.

You get these bold combinations from time to time, when you decide to put several things in one shot...this is one of those shots. I recognize the table (i think), and I like that you placed the glass holder skewed to the lines of the table, and that the daffodils are kind of bent & not perfect. They're weathered flowers, they've had their share of woes...Lots of different motions in the shot, and different textures too. I like the shadows as well. (Btw, I too would love a shot of the blue glass in water by itself. The combination has real presence.)
