Description

For Ash888, because she knows. Ash is kinda my mystic mother here at Renderosity; she has a deep sense of spirituality and follows traditions similar to my own. Ash is also a wonderful artist who explores both 3-d and paint media to full affect. My favourite images by Ash have to be "Between Battles" and "Luis - The Rowan" My real name is Meng-Po, but you may call me Lady Meng; I am the Lady of Forgetfullness. My home is just inside the gates of Di Yu, the Chinese realm of the dead. Unlike your western concept of hell, where people would suffer eternal damnation, people of Chinese Buddhist faith know that there is always a chance for atonement, no matter how deadly your sins. Every soul that comes to Di Yu will undergo some ritual punishment, for none of you are without sin, but then you will be released back into the living world. Every rebirth gives you a chance for new enlightenment and takes you a step closer to the devine. My task is to prepare and serve the tea of oblivion. When you have atoned for your sins and are about to be released back into the world you must drink my special five spice tea. It will make you forget your former life, your time in Di Yu and your language. Purged of all your sins and knowledge you will be reborn in a new incarnation to start the cycle again. However, as your soul grows older, my tea may start to lose its affects. You may start to remember bits of your past lives. The older your soul the more you will remember. Such knowledge may help you on your path to enlightenment as you may now understand past weaknesses that you need to work on in this existence. The Buddha was the first to be immune to my tea, but there have been others since. So I say to you, take heart and do not be afraid. Every life is a journey, and every journey takes your soul closer to the devine. Embrace your existence but do not be too attached to it, when you have learned what you now need to know you will move on to your next stage of existance. Thank you for all the wonderful comments and favs on my image "Cast Not Your Blame Onto Me" It wound up #28 on the favorite artists list this week. You guys are just fantastic!

Interesting image here, I haven't really contemplated who I would be meeting at the gates of hell before. You give a unique view of the difference in religons here, me I don't know what I believe in right now, but your render is as thought provoking as it is well done! Congrats on another great image Roxy!

Another fascinating goddess to add to your collection. I really like the character's pose, and the way she is looking into the distance. That, and the backstory your provided, add another layer of complexity to this portrait. Very nicely done!

Beautiful character. Love her outfit - wonderful leather texture for it. Looks like you could almost touch it and feel the leathery softness. Wonderful lighting. Really love her regal pose and the POV. Great background and fog effects. Nicely done!

Roxy first of all the outfit is fantastic, the mellow orange skin tone is so warm and beautiful, this skintone go's excellent with the red glossy lips. It looks like she is staring into the great nothingness, just silence and grace reflecting in her eyes. The lighting is soft but bright. i love it!!5++fav. Big Hug val. Beautiful Dedi!

Thank you Roxy! This is a another great image of an almost unknown deity. Pose and composition suggest at the kind of energy she represents quite well. You surprise me with the bits of mythology you are digging up again and again :-) I have never run accross this Lady of the otherworld, but will have a closer look now that you brought her to my attention.

Well worth waiting a bit extra for ;) Beautiful, she truly does look mysterious and divine. The outfit hair combination here looks really good. Would have really tried my patience posing the layers... outfit/hair/outfit and without any poke through. Sweet job Roxy!
