Description

Look to this day! For it is life, the very life of life. In it's brief course Lie all the verities and Realities of your existence. The bliss of growth The glory of action The splendour of beauty For yesterday is but a dream And tomorrow is only a vision, But today well lived makes every Yesterday a dream of happiness. And every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day! Such is the salutation to the dawn. ~Kalidasa, c.400 BC Normally I'm not one for poetry, but I like this one. Pencil then ink on paper, scanned and colored in photoshop 6. The patterned part of the sari is a displacement map, which is almost impossible to see cause of it's transparency, but it's there. background is a vectored then rastered photo of the most famous of Mahals, the Taj Mahal. Your comments are most welcome. Enjoy, ~D

I must say I like the simplicity of this piece. The women before the shadowed background. The inking and the smoothness of the whole piece is astounding. The coloring is so vibrant but works so well in front of the background. Very smooth. Very well done
