UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Wow--you took what could have been a pretty ordinary foto, then did this awesome selective coloring and turned it into something really special--this is GREAT!!

Spectacular...!!!!

Nicely framed Bill. Am I missing something? It looks to me as if the ferry is leaving the shore, but the cars face the wrong direction. Shouldn't they face the other way?

Very nice post work Bill! Fantastic idea!

What a great idea! I love the way this turned out. Fantastic work with the selective coloring. :)

oh that's a ferry alright. Nice job with the manipulation, you maintained all the clarity, and you even left the red on the ferry's light too. Very nice work. (We used to take ferries across Lake Michigan, and it seemed very much like this...I guess they don't change no matter where you are...) Very nice as always...

Wonderful vision. As someone said you took the mundane and turned it into striking art.

Love the postwork. Wonderful view too. I enjoy the ferries when I can ride them and this is a fun reminder of that enjoyment.

Neat effect. Guess we need to see a pic showing the ferry layout.

Careful now, Bill! This could be just the start of an unhealthy interest in taillights like I am developing! A superb bit of postwork!

Stellar selective coloring of the taillights in this shot, Bill. I was musing, as I see the original starting point receding in the distance, that it would be really something if the autos, home sick, all started up by themselves and proceeded to drive off the deck of the ferry attempting to get back to shore. And yes, the cars should be facing the other way, unless they backed onto the ferry.

Guys, This is not a photo manipulation. I didn't mess with the ferry:-) The vast majority of car ferries can be entered and exited from both ends. When we boarded this ferry we drove through the wide open entryway at the bow. Upon reaching the debarkation area at our destination, the ferry Captain backed into the ferry slip and we drove directly off the stern...honest...that's the way these things are designed:-)
