Gorgeous. The color is striking. I never cease to marvel at all the names of flowers and plants folks with green thumbs are able to retain. But then I have tons of aircraft and automobile names, model numbers, descriptions, etc. tucked away that MANY normal people would find of little value to everyday living. We obviously get pretty proficient at remembering what we want to remember don't we? :-)

first, your sense of proportion & balance can be awesome; even in a simple shot like this, you are intuitively aware of those qualities, and you make a simple flower like a jewel. Your non-focussed sections are as articulate as your focussed ones, and the lighting is beautiful. A beautiful piece. Also, LOL at bill's great comment: I don't know flowers OR aircraft & automobiles. BUT: I can do Pi up to 30 places, AND I know the complete Gettysburg Address backwards. (move over, people, you ain't dealin' with an amateur here...) Also, I can recite 2 major soliloquies of Hamlet with every other word missing, and if you pay me enough, I'll show you my Prado Museum sketches: I did easily the worst sketch of a Rafael since the 16th C. (I got letters from his relatives.) Everyone has their strengths... a wonderful shot.

LOL at Mark---we DO all have our strengths and likes and weird little quirks (I'm grat at tongue twisters, puns, and rewriting Christmas carols with off the all lyrics!!). ANYWAY----I love this line up of these flowers, reminds me of school!!

What a great POV. Make me want to see what's behind that front petal. Beautiful compositon.

Great line up of the flowers! I just retain useless, to other people, tidbits of information that somehow ends up being useful later on. Again, great phot!

I like the line as it disappears into the background. Wonderful broad petals and gentle color.

What strikes me is the way the petals look so strong and thick, and tha teenie tantalising glimpse of black of the stamens. Really lovely!
