Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Hilarious! I laughed out loud at the end! Even in some schools here the staff have no fixed 'abode', and have to cart everything around. (Not quite the same I know, but just as inhuman.)

Reflecting what has to be an active and fun loving imagination. Great illustration of what has been in your mind's eye. A+, your fourth period English/art appreciator:)

Love what you did here with the Cube Farm Marilyn and can't wait to see that drawing

You certainly have a way with words, Marilyn! I can just see Little Miss Muffett, water spout in hand, sprinkling away. Incidentally, I have a cube farm in my freezer. It's called an ice cube tray.

I can't wait to see the drawing either...a wonderful little poem, and you used rhyme too. That's not easy: Until one has done it, they don't know. (Every so often, I'll do rhyme for someone, and it's always a blast even though it's hard. Do you have a rhyming dictionary, or do you go au naturel? I depend on rhyming dictionaries, or else I spend 8 hours on one line. It's an art, that's for sure...) Well cubicles have now been given a humorous treatment. And I love the sketch, even though it's not the finished drawing yet. Your piece inspires thoughts of a piece in me...gimme some time, maybe I'll do it & post it. Kind of an over-space collaboration, like the "linked poems" of the Japanese: One poet wrote a couplet, another added, and on and on, until you had this huge linked poem...Nice work Marilyn, funny, concise and I love the last line.
