Description

This is the third painting in the series "Triumph at Twilight". I kept the general arrangement and shapes from the CG version and the first in the series. As in the second, I changed the color scheme and the bright/dark scheme. I think this one came out much richer in texture and expressiveness than the previous one. The size of the original is 14x21 inch. Painted with Winsor-Newton watercolor paints on Arches cold press 150lb paper. For a CG(Poser+Vue) version see thumb_1842315.jpg The first two painting in the series: thumb_1847418.jpg thumb_1849999.jpg Edit: When I compare the image as it is on renderosity to the original image I uploaded, the one here is much paler and has less contrasts. Strange. So I increased the contrast and lowered the brightness to make them more similar at least on my computer. However, The excitement in this image comes from the details - the variety of shapes and lines and their dynamics. Perhaps worth looking at the larger version.

I liked the previous much better on the web. Unfortunately, between the scanner/camera and my monitor...this is really dark and dreary looking to my poor eyes. The previous one had some real POW the attacked the eyes and held them prisoner to make them look. This one is more like the beggar on the street. It's good and on hard times, but I want to look away. That's my opinion on what I see on my screen. In person, it might make me faint to gaze on it! Sorry...I guess the comparison is harsh because the last one was SO WOW, WOOT, YAHOO!

I liked the first painting in the series the most. I, too, think it would be much more spectacular in person. In fact there appears to be little contrast in this picture of the painting, which I'm sure is not the case in the actual one. Perhaps adjusting the levels in Photoshop might help?

What i see more diferent in this one, relativement with the last , is the great mouvement of the all ambient .I feel great "winds" underwater, that changes something in the peacefuly of the last one. This is the more signifiant for me.

i think this one is the most you. the thin squiggles, the symmetry of particles/bubbles on the water and in the sky, the bright, saturated colors, and the hair tendrils all connect this version most strongly to your other works. it's also the most alive and energetic. i think this is your best handling of the splash around her leg. i like each version for different reasons, but i think this one represents you and your work best.

Fantastic trilogy. Each image has a different spirit to it. Great play with colors. I still prefer the first one. :-)
