Description

This is the second painting in the series "Triumph at Twilight". There were supposed to be only two but I thought I ruined this one completely at one of the early stages so I started a third. While I was waiting for the 3rd to dry at various stages I thought I'll continue experimenting on number 2 and this is what I ended with. I kept the general arrangement and shapes from the CG version and the first in the series but changed the color scheme and the bright/dark scheme. (This is more my 'style' than the subdued versions). The size of the original is 14x21 inch. Painted with Winsor-Newton watercolor paints on Arches cold press 150lb paper. (I used mainly 4 pigments in this painting - Winsor red, Cadmium yellow cobalt blue and green, plus some inks) For a CG(Poser+Vue) version see thumb_1842315.jpg The first painting in the series: thumb_1847418.jpg

We meet on the same page, once again! We're going to have to stop meeting like this, or people will start talking! LOLOLOLOL Very nice piece of art! Watercolors hate me. They love you, though!

I quite like this, the attitude of the figure and the water and sky rules. You're in good company, Edvard Munch reportedly had has many as 4 version of many paintings going at the same time!

Beautiful watercolour again, with some similatiry to the others but different enough and with life of its own.Red colour,(in sky and in water) is a constant in all of yours ,and certainly has an important meaning, but goes Well. Beautiful work.

i like both versions. i have a penchant for the more saturated, primary colors, but i like the subtlety of the other as well. this one looks looser to me, and the watery figure more fluid. it's hard to distinguish her right arm from her body, but i think that's more fitting of a being made of water. it looks almost like she's coming out of flower.

Very good work again. I prefer the previous one, I find this one more "stylized". The red on the water reminds me of blood and since she seems to be coming out of something (a flower, like cobaltdream suggested), this image makes me think about the pains of birth.
