Renderosity has opened a whole new world to me, its a fantastic place and have had some brilliant support from many new friends.  I retired from work very early through ill health so I took to photography from the very basics.
Since joining I have grown in confidence with my photography and I now think because of RR that I take it a little more seriously. I started off here using a Fuji Finepix 6500fd, it took some great pictures but I'm hooked now so I have now(April 2008) bought a DSLR SAMSUNG DX10 and having fun learning the settings etc. ( these things take me a while lol)ÂÂ
I am so fortunate to be with a wonderful person in my life, Sylvia. She is not just my partner but of course she's also my best friend. Previously I have been married but seperated a few years ago and have two fantastic children. I NOW have two fantastic grandchildren !!!
My interests are photography, i have had a dabble at Acrylic painting, and I enjoy long walks out in the countryside.      I also have an interest in anything historical.  I want to have a sample of just about everything there is in photography, who knows what the future holds!
Thanks for calling by.    Alan

Awesome shot! I knew, of course, that almonds grow on trees; but I never realized exactly where on the branch or how they grow. This is a wonderful capture!

Like everyone else ... I have never seen this before! What an amazing, fascinating thing. Of course I knew they grew on trees ... we have walnut trees here aplenty ... but this is a revelation! Not to mention ... it's an awesome photo. Beautiful light and dof. And you already know the subject is interesting! :)

Superb macro Alan. Almonds are one of my favorites, but for some reason I haven't seen any grown here in Arizona. But my tangerine tree is in bloom, and it smells fantastic!
