Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

When I start trying to clean out drawers and closets, it takes forever--I find stuff like this, sit down and take a trip down memory lane. Beautiful light!!

wonderful work...

More light painting? With multiple "lightings" here the effect distracts, like a collage. From the title, I suspect this was your goal.

Well done Bill nice PWL

Beautiful study of tones and textures. Love how the metal box holds and implies so much more about his life. We used to play a game, where everyone had to pull something from a paper sack and talk about it for three minutes. This image reminds me of that. Even I could talk about all of these. Hehe.

This is such a wonderful collection of memorabilia, and your lighting gives it a very special mood. Beutifully done, my dear!

Stellar PWL at work in this composition, Mark! What are the odds that the ends would justify the means in this project?

I really like the objects themselves first of all; I think one of the attractions of these shots is if the objects pull us in, make us journey...but then there's the light that everyone else loves too: Very rich, very dark, very warm. Painters in the 16th & 17th C's used light like this; and in Holland (Rembrandt above all) they basked in it—ie, warm, a sense of everything emerging out of darkness, etc. And then the arrangement: You picked your items well (potpourri is an art, after all) & you lighted them well too. An enticing collection Bill, and I think—I think—we see some military insignia, looking venerable, and an old Rail history, a pic of an old car, the same dog plaque as the previous post (?), maybe an old bill...feels like we're in a small room surrounded by things that haven't seen the light of day in years, and we have it all to ourselves with all the time we want to explore. Nice job all around.
