Description

Late one afternoon, I surprised this young pair of 'yellow-tailed Black-Coackatoo's(Calyptorhynchus funereus) in my garden. You can recognize them by their harsh screeches and the grinding noises when feeding. They are usually looking for pine seeds or wood-boring insects. They are very shy and I was lucky to get these shots of them. Cheers *BB*

Great captures of these shy birds, I thought the were tree-vandals, biting and snapping branches, but they are actually after wood-bugs, I never knew that ! ~Cheers~

Great capture indeed! We have some colorful birds around but nothing so exotic as these . . . well, we consider them exotic. Lol! Anyway, nice pair of shots here.

You get some interesting and exotic critters in your area- cool capture! The one on top is a touch out of focus, but with all of the tree surrounding it the autofocus is going to get a bit confused.

How wonderful to have these two visit in your garden and you look to have got quite close to them too. Lovely captures and I love that yellow spot they have on their heads and the white beak. Beautiful birds.

An amazing pair of birds and images! You are so lucky to have exotic birds in your garden. I didn't know there was a black Cockatoo, is it as large as the white ones we usually see?
