Hey everyone hope you had a good weekend. Got a maximum of maybe two shots still to come from my most recent short trip to Tentsmuir, then that's it from me for a bit as I attend to academic stuff. It was pretty tricky trying to find a bit without footprints all over the place messing the sand up, but I spotted this little bit with the low light catching the patterns in the sand and thought it was worth a shot. Lately I feel my photography is somewhat lacking in 'message', and to that end hope to be introducing people into my landscapes in the coming months. I think I've learnt enough now that I'm not satisfied with just getting things right technically, I want to combine that knowhow with some ideas I have and start creating images, rather than 'just taking photos' for lack of a better way of putting it... if that makes sense.. Anyway, for the sake of this shot let's just be calling this one minimalistic ;P Happy mothers day to you (uk) mums today too! Adam

i would have cropped right below the tree line to accentuate the great textures that are in the sand.. but thats only me other than that its a great capture

I know what you mean, It's easy to get to hung up on the technical aspect of taking photos and ignore everything else. Call it photographers block. Actually i like the detail in the ripples here, some of those grasses are casting some nice little shadows, it would have been an idea to get right down behind one of those and get one in as the subject. Just a thought. Sometimes when you're distracted or not in the mood you just don't see those little things though.
