A Covenant Renewed {What's A Mother To Do V}
After a night of dancing at KV 20/20, Hatshepsut and her friends return to the cottage her Father had built for her on the banks of the Nile as a birthday gift.
While the others still sleep, she rises early still feeling despondent over what seems to be an ever widening riff between herself and her Mother.
This early morning while the waters of the Great Nile are at their ebb, Hatshepsut carefully steps out following a natural path of stones to what has become a special place of prayer and meditation for her and begins gathering up a few of the sacred Nile Lotus to place around the breakfast table. This is done as a way of paying homage, a great sign of respect and love towards her friends.
After dropping to her knees she picks the first Lotus and begins pulling its petals from the bud one at a time scattering them to the winds while praying.
When suddenly the Lotus is replaced with a bright fluttering light and the soft sing song vice of a woman says to her,
"The Nile floods, recedes, floods.
And over us stretches Nut,
the goddess who is the sky.
The sun travels by night
through her body.
the moon and stars by day.
Her toes touch the east,
her fingers reach to the west,
she arches over us,
rainbow mother of night and day."
"Now fret no more" the voice then says.
