On Aviation and Photography:
"You haven't seen a tree until you've seen its shadow from the sky." -- Amelia Earhart
“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Great photo. light and color are right on... I see something that goes BUMP in the night. Glad I was getting up and had some coffee rather than getting ready to go to bed. Whooooweeeeooooo. I'm switching to grapes.

Hehe. Andrea created a tree. You created either an eagle or a monster! Either way, at least they go together,

OK. Bill lol you never fail to amaze me, ever see that women on the tonight show that use to collect potato chips?? Maybe you and Andrea can share these with Jay. Thanks for the smile.. Felt I better add to that for those that maybe never watched the Tonight show but the women had a collection of potato chips that were shaped like things such as animals, or people and she kept them in albums, similar to how someone would keep baseball cards or a stamp collection. :) Lol I had to write that three times.

Looks cool Bill. Now if you found one in the shape of Jesus you might be able to sell it on eBay! ;) Hey Bill, check out Dave's site.....http://ricoarango.com/

Sorry Bill but I see an orange man running with his arms in the air LOL. I like to see you are even creative with your peelings too, very well done to you my friend, and thanks for the smile :o) Hugs Jane xx

Ok, I really am lost on finding the eagle but I can definitely see a frantically retreating Homer Simpson! Super fine shot!

Houston, Tranquility Base here...the Eagle has landed... Stellar clarity, contrast, textures and manipulation in this concept, Bill! Actually, at first glance it looked like a bogey man approaching with nothing but evil intentions on his mind. I wish I was that neat and meticulous in peeling my navel oranges, which always end up in many separate pieces.

Very clever capture and the orange colouring looks great. This eagle would be great to see in the sky!!

great! And I love that you referenced Andrea, because her pith creatures were terrific too. But without the 'tree', you got this very friendly creature instead; and while I can see the eagle, I also see a big soft creature with his/her arms out, welcoming everyone. (Maybe it's a boxer—those are pretty thick gloves!) Nice you put it against black, good choice. You and Andrea are making me feel guilty: I never leave the rind in one piece—it's demolished when I'm through; but maybe I'll do a collage with them. (I don't have a camera: Can I scan orange rinds?) Very friendly creature, and if it's an eagle, you might wanna tell him he's got a big hole in the center. Maybe it's aerodynamic, who knows...
